- Applications will be verified by the Office of Veterinary Admissions.
- If claiming Utah residency/residency for tuition purposes: Residency certification is due (all required documentation must be submitted to the USU Residency Office) by September 15, 2026.
- Applicants must meet prerequisite coursework and minimum grade point average (GPA) requirements (cumulative GPA: 2.9; GPA in prerequisite science and math courses: 3.1) to enter the review process. Applicants who do not meet these requirements do not undergo further review.

- As part of the holistic evaluation process, applicants will be selected, based on preliminary rankings, to complete a Kira Talent assessment. This assessment will consist of two video responses and one essay response. If selected, you will receive an invitation email from Kira Talent. This assessment must be completed within 7 days of the date in which the Kira invitation is sent.
- Invitations to interview will be extended based on pre-interview rankings. Interviews will take place in December and January. All interviews will be conducted via a virtual format.
- Following interviews, scores (15% of the total application) will be added to pre-interview scores; applicants will then be ranked by the Office of Veterinary Admissions.
- Using the finalized and approved rankings, applicants will receive either an offer of admission, a waitlist notification, or a denial notification.
- Applicants will be notified of the status of their application via email. Applicants must inform the Office of Veterinary Admissions that they accept an offer of admission by April 15th to reserve their seat.
To Accept Our Offer
- Current USU protocol requires completion of a separate application through the USU School of Graduate Studies and payment of a $55 application fee. You must complete this application and pay the non-refundable $55 application fee by April 15, 2027 to reserve your seat. This information is subject to change.
- We encourage you to complete the acceptance process as soon as possible after receiving an offer of admission.
After You've Accepted Our Offer
- You will receive an electronic welcome packet from the USU CVM Office of Student Services.
- Final grades will be verified via official transcripts. We encourage you to request official transcripts as soon as all relevant grades have been posted and you’ve verified that all grades will be reflected on the official transcript. Official transcripts must be received by the USU School of Graduate Studies no later than July 15, 2027. Transcripts must be requested in a timely manner to ensure receipt by this date. - The fall 2027 semester will start mid-August 2027.
